The story is told of an American businessman whom was at the pier of a small coastal Mexican village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked.Inside the small boat were several large yellowfin tuna.The American complimented the Mexican fisherman on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took to catch them.

The Mexican replied,"Only a little while."

The American then asked why he didnt stay out longer to catch more fish.

The Mexican said he had enough to support his family's immediate need.

The American asked,"But what do you do with the rest of your day?"

The fisherman replied,"I sleep late,fish a little,play with my children,take a siesta with my wife,Maria,stroll into the village each evening,where i sip wine and play the guitar with my amigos.I have a full and busy life,Senor."

The American scoffed,"I am an Havard M.B.A. and could help you.You should spend more time fishing and,with the proceeds buy a bigger boat,you could buy several boats.Eventually,you would have a fleet of fishing boats.Instead of selling your catch to a middleman,you would sell directly to the processor,eventually owning your own cannery.You would control the product,processing and distribution.

You would need to leave this small coastal fishing village and move to Mexico City,then Los Angeles and eventually New York,where you would run your expanding enterprise."

The Mexican fisherman asked,"But Senor,how long wil all of this take?"

The American replied,"Probably fifteen to twenty years."
"But what then ,Senor?"

The American laughed and said,"That's the best part.When the time was right,you would announce an IPO and sell your company stock to the public and become very rich.You would make millions!"

"Millions,Senor?Then what?"

The American said,"Then you would retire.Move to a small fishing village where you would sleep late,fish a little,play with your kids,take siesta with your wife,stroll to the village in the evenings ,where you could sip wine and play guitar with your amigos."

The Acres of Diamond story,reportedly told over 5000 times by the American rhetorist,Russel H Conwell,between 1900 and 1925 is what I bring (again) to you today with good reasons.

Ali Hafed,a wealthy Persian farmer,who was content because he was wealthy(and wealthy because he was content!)heard about the existence of Diamonds from an old Bhuddist Priest and decided to sell his farm and all his belongings to go in search of Diamonds??! -because he was no longer content because he thought he was poor(and now thinking he was poor because he is unhappy?!)

After losing his fortune in his unsuccessfull search for Diamonds,he committed sucide.

Ironically,the buyer of his farm benefitted greatly because,out of the garden he purchased fron Ali,was discovered the Diamond Mine of Golconda in southern India - the most magnificient Diamond Mine in the history of Mankind!(Kohinoor and the Orloff stones of the crown jewells of England and Russia,the largest on Earth came from there.)

THE MORALS OF ALI HAFED:

Had Ali remained at home and dug in his own cellar,or underneath his own wheat field or in his own garden, instead of wretchedness and starvation,or death by sucide i a strange land;he would have had ACRES OF DIAMOND!

For every acre of that old farm,yes,even every shovelfull,afterwards yeilded gems which since has decorated the crowns of Monarchs.
THE SUCEESSFUL PURSUIT OF EVERY DREAM REQUIRES WISDOM.

As an already wealthy person,Ali ought to have considered,very well,the pros and cons of his expedition. As A RULE,TO PROTECT YOUR WEALTH;YOU DONT TAKE A STEP THAT WILL MAKE YOU FALL IF IT FAILS TO PRODUCE THE EXPECTED GAIN.

Do you know why Diamonds are so expensive? BECAUSE THEY GLITTER?NO!BUT BECAUSE THEY ARE HARD AND ALMOST INDESTRUCTIBLE!DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER!!
